i have, behind me, my wonderful family, my wife jenny, my two twins -- one of them. adriano and alexander santos. alexander graduated from ucla and is a proud member of the famous structural engineering firm of santos and urrutia. my daughter is a graduate of boston university. she works for the san francisco international terminal marketing division. born and raised san franciscans. i want to encourage everyone out there listening that this is the best city to raise a family. regarding a few of those articles that you read about families leaving san francisco -- don't. stay in the city. this is what can happen to you if you stay. [laughter] in terms of my dedication, i think, san francisco has embraced me, has welcomed me, has allowed me to prosper, allow me to raise this incredible family. as a naturalized u.s. citizen, i tell you i have learned a great deal about compassion, public service, and it is time for me to give something back to a community that has embraced me and opened their arms to me. now, i have a -- some set of chart over here and they're talking about twin power sf stakeholders meeting 1:00 to 2:00 pm that already took place on november 7. i don't know why they put this out, but if at all such a meeting took place for one hour, i think it's a joke. this is such an important issue that it takes normally four or five hours. you know, you just can't get into it and say okay -- and the meeting is over, no. there are many, many factors, many, many elements, many, many facets that have to be discussed. so, commissioners, i am the director of environmental justice advocacy. and it behooves me to bring my experience, the last 40 years i've been dealing with these issues at the presidio, here there and everywhere, i've paid my dues, but let us not keep the public out. we have astute people in san francisco. let us give our input. the more outreach we do, the better results we get, but let's not, you know, dictate something that people will just go with the flow. ain't going to happen. thank you very much. >> president torres: well said. any other public comments on item 7(b)

my name is megan harris and i am a homeowner in the marina and a mother of 3 1/2 year twins that use the green quite a bit and we love it. we are out there quite a bit playing soccer, the views are amazing. this just seems off brand for san francisco as far as i'm concerned because a commercial restaurant -- we have so many designated commercial streets. we've got forti'(ëo mason, chest street, fillmore street, fisherman's wharf. why do we need to put a commercial restaurant there. why not a yoga student, something that will benefit the community, a bike shop, something that people can use, a soccer club. i feel like a commercial restaurant is great for tourists, but i don't necessarily think it's a great thing for the community. yeah, i think of it as more of an eyesore. you look at the bridge, you look at angel island, marina headlands and now look at a sign that says fish market? which i'm sure is a great fish restaurant, the employees are wonderful, they looked nice and i'm sure the family is fantastic. to me it's not about the family but the fact we're putting a commercial rest

the only introduction was the landmarking of the castro street twin peaks tavern, and it was sponsored by the [speaker not understood] preservation commission. that concludes my report. the zoning administrator did pass along his report to me from the board of appeals. there were two items that he wanted you to know about. the first was an appeal of the zoning administrator letter of determination for 11 01 dolores street and this letter found the subject lot was a legal nonconforming lot for the purpose of the planning code. this determination was upheld. you may be interested, there is currently subdivision appeal of that same property pending before the board of supervisors. the second item before the board of appeals was appeal of the zoning administrator letter of determination for 4 98 hoffman avenue. this letter found that the subject building illegally contained two dwelling units based upon past building permits and special notice of special restriction. this letter of determination also upheld by the board of appeals. so, that concludes both my reports unless there are questi
